Character Customization Added!

With the game now running reliable in Multiplayer, I’ve been finally able to focus on building the next major feature over the last 4 weeks.

Customization Options!

By playing the game, you can now get items by winning ranked games that allow you outfitting your character with different styles. For now, the following customizing options are available.

Banners!

Shoutout to a4man for creating some incredible banners for us! He made the Skeleton and the VR Viking, as well as secret others which are not shown here

Bracers!

Jackets!

I’ve build the system super modular and flexible, so expect more customizing types for the future!

The new build is now being distributed to our small testing community, and further polished. Once it’s done, I’m going to start on the last major feature of the game, stay tuned :).

Play “local VR Multiplayer” with 2 Headsets on a single PC

Something not ViKubb-related, but I thought it might be interesting for some. As a Developer, I’m in the lucky position to own a Rift as well as a Vive. Well, today a friend came over and we figured it’s actually possible to use 2 headsets on a single PC (which is not very strong, using a GTX 970). See for yourself how we’re kicking ass in Rec Room – super fun!

It’s actually quite easy to setup, you’ll need:

  • A Rift and a Vive
  • SteamVR and Oculus Home Installed
  • Enough Space
  • A game that is not too demanding and is available on Oculus Home and Steam (e.g. Rec Room)

All you need to do is plug in both headsets and start the game on Oculus Home and Steam.  Everything should just work out of the box, now additional setup needed. Even sound works fine. The VR Madness can begin!
